My school needs to approve Gloss
Some schools only let approved apps read school email. If yours does, Gloss shows Your school needs to approve Gloss. This isn't something you did wrong, and Gloss remembers it for your school so the next student knows before trying.
What still works
Everything except reading email: your course site calendar, your class schedule, your syllabi, student org events and reminders.
Ask your IT help desk
Gloss has a message ready on the approval screen. Tap to copy it, then send it to your school's IT help desk:
Hi, I'd like to use Gloss to keep track of class deadlines. It needs read only access to my school email. Gloss's security and privacy details for IT: joingloss.app/it
The page for IT teams has everything they need: what Gloss accesses, the exact permissions, how data is handled, and how to approve or block it in Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra.
Students under 18
Some schools don't let students under 18 connect outside apps to school email at all. Gloss shows that plainly instead of a sign in that fails.
After your school approves
Tap your school email in Settings and sign in again. That's it.
